The Shoes Blog

The Shoes Blog is where I write all about shoes

FIRSTLY… this is basically my list but asking where i can get things from if me or my mum dont know. And i will be asking for differences between products such as Iphone and Iphone3G…
Secondly… How much do parents spend on a 15 year old? 2 years ago it worked out at £1000 from my entire family, but my big present was a laptop. I know my parents are having money troubles so how much do you think the parents spend?
Thirdly, Im 15, girl, live in uk.
I like listening to music, going out with friends, having days in – basically everything. My mum has asked me to write my christmas list and i dont know what to get or where from – here are my idea:

Wellies – but i dont know where to get them from and my mum doesnt either so she asked me to find out. I dont horse ride or anything, I want to go to festivals next year though and i want them for christmas and cold weather. Not too expensive – maybe £50 or less. Where from?

Clothes/ shoes/ bag – I will just be getting from stores where i shop (topshop, H&M, river island, bershka, zara)

Perfume – Can somebody tell me a nice smelling perfume? I quite like fruity smelling perfumes… For my birthday i had DKNY red and green, so im getting both of them again this year but i love perfume so i need a few more? Again – not too expensive, maybe £40 or less for 30ml.

Pandora bracelet – I already have the bracelet and 4 charms, i want to get another 1 or 2 charms which i have picked out. So basically no more jewellery is needed because i dont tend to wear jewellery unless its out, but now ill be wearing my pandora more.

New phone and Ipod – Im not a technical kind of person and i dont keep up to date with these things since so many different types have came out so basically have i got this right? – an iphone is a phone to ring people on and store music. an ipod only stores music. ? if so then why doesnt everybody just get iphones? what is the difference between the Iphone and Iphone 3G? If i get a new phone it needs to be on a contract of £20 or less per month – it doesnt have to have internet, and i text much more than i call. as long as it has 300 texts and 200 minutes i think i would be okay? Prefer networks: O2 or vodafone… tell me if its different?

Laptop – I shouldnt have to need one as i have only had my current one for 2 years, but my memory is full and i cant play on my sims3 because i dont have enough memory. I MIGHT ask for a memory card but how much do they cost and how much can you store on it?

Hair – I already have straightners, curlers and hair dryer, tongs – the lot. I used to do loads with my hair but now i dont apply heat to it because i dont want split ends :)

THANKYOU if you answer any of these
i dont really expect you to answer all of them because i wrote loads there, but if you do then 10 points is in store for you and much thanks anyway :D

Hey :P

Well ive just turned 16, I also live in the UK, and if people are saying you are spoilt for getting alot spent on you, ignore them. I got a horrible email the other day from a woman in her 30’s telling me I was spoilt :L Just because i get about the same as you spent on me for christmas. I dont think they understand english christmas’ lol

Ok well, wellies, ive seen a pink pair with glitter on them in topshop, and i think maybe next too, and i deffinetly know you can get them from shoe zone because i got some and they are lovely :D (see link below) Only problem with them is when you stand in muddy puddles, you see all the mud on it because its bright, other than that they are great :D : http://www.shoezone.net/products.php/Ladies/Boots/79317.html

Perfume: Well, I love love LOVE CKIN2U, it under £30 and its lush, I also love brittney spears fantasy (Last boyfriend loveed this also) and also ghost, all very nice :D

I used to love pandoras when only a couple people in my year group had them, but now everyone else has them i have started to not like them. So, this christmas, (because im not much of a brand girl) Im asking for a 100% silver plain charm bracelet which is about half the price of a pandora, and im buying my charms from a hand made stall i found, which are relatively cheap too. Its just so that im orriginal, and also I hate it when people only buy stuff because its like in fashion, I had a charm bracelet on from when i was 8, but then i lost it in march :( So hopefully getting a stronger better one this christmas lol :D

And yeh you have that right, Iphone is a phone and music storage system, and ipods just store music, and the reason why everyone doesnt get an Iphone is because everyone already had ipods when iphones came out, so no one was going to buy an iphone if they just bought a new 3rd generation ipod, (quite expensive) So yeh get an iphone, they are supposed to be rally good, but i dont like them because i dont like touch screens to type :( (ps, iphone 3g has more memory) You can buy a £20 pay as you go card from O2 which gives you 300 free texts in a month, and also you get £20 worth of call time. You also get sent a code to go on the o2 website where you can get prizes, last time i used it i got an extra 100 free texts, and my mum got 50 extra free minutes of call time :D Im getting a LGks360, all my friends are getting it too, so :D its all good, they are surprisingly quite cheap too :D

Dont get a new laptop!?!? A stick of ram, hard drive or memory will only set you back between £7-£29 depending on how much memory you want, I think you should get the £15 one, which is just basically put into your laptop and it makes your laptop faster, you have more space (memory) however you may have to send your latop in to get it put in, which can cost between £10-£20 unless you know how to do it yourself. Check out PCworld for this.

You could get hair accessories? Hair bands, hair clips, you could even buy some hair syrum and heat defence spray to prevent your hair from splitting (I am a compulsive curler and straightner, i recommend tresame heat defence spray)

Hmm, Well I asked for stuff for my room also for christmas because Ive just had my room redecorated (part of a christmas present) so ive asked for a pink bean bag, lamp, posters, drapes, etc) so maybe you could ask for that too if your stilllll after more things for christmas lol, but to me, your list is sufficent enough, you have ALOTT there, and you shouldnt just ask for stuff for the sake of asking :D Were kind of similar though tbh,

Merry early christmas! x

To answer your headline question (there’s too much else to read and time is short), never spend more than you can afford to and don’t go over the top. It shouldn’t be about monetary value anyway, it’s putting thought in that counts.

If your parents are having money trouble do the decent mature thing and ask for less stuff! I used to get one big present and a little suprise. Just ask for a phone and an external hard drive for your laptop. That is plenty

  3. Pupp Said,

Just ask them for money, so you can buy what you want. Than you’ll find out how much you’re worth.

Thay can’t buy you a iphone on a contract cos they would have to pay the contract.

Be modest, ask for a couple of DVDs and some music vouchers, then if they choose to get you an ipod, then it’ll be a much better gift.

I never got what I wanted for xmas/birthdays till I met my lovely boyfriend, who gets me the perfect gifts, regardless of the time of year.

  4. Tasmanian Devil Said,

WOW, how materialistic are you? It’s the thought that counts, not the actual gift. Maybe your parents will spend what they CAN AFFORD on you.

If you really want all that stuff why don’t you go out, get a part-time job, and buy the stuff yourself?

Christmas is about giving, not about how much crap you recieve as presents so you can brag in front of your mates.

Sorry i don’t live in uk so i can’t help you enough …
But the difference betweek Iphone and Iphone 3G is that the Iphone 3G has more option it is faster …better than Iphone….. and there is bluetooth in it but of course it’s more expensive than the Iphone.
And sorry about other stuff because i don’t know from where to get it or how much does it cost.
    About perfume << i’m not a girl i can’t help u.
About Laptop – If i were in your place,id get an external hard disk and play the game from it.or just make some backup on it and install that game on the laptop and play it.
In my opinion this is a good list for christmas …… but get all this think is too expensive so i suggest you to buy the Iphone for your birthday :)

  7. ♥ Roxч ♥ Said,

I usually get about £100 worth of presents from my family >< but I usually get £80 from my grandpa so I guess that adds up to £180, lol. =P

Wellies – I’ve seen loads of wellies at Topshop, and they sell cute fluffy socks to put inside the wellies as well =D Most of them are between £20 – £50

Perfume – I like Harajuku Lovers perfumes which are made by singer Gwen Stefani. They’re about £13 for 10ml (I think?) and they have limited edition christmas ones coming out in November =D Oh and they smell sooooo nice =] I also like Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera perfumes but they’re usually about £30

New phone and ipod – Okay. iPhones are basically iPod Touches but with a phone and bluetooth as well. iPod touches are basically iPods (mp3 players, they play music) but they have cool stuff on like games, camera, stuff like that. iPhones are about £350, the new version is about £450. iPod Touches are £150.

Laptop – Yeah you should probs get a memory card, you can get them £20 on Amazon.com (I think =S ). I’m not really a technical person either so I don’t know, but you can ask at your nearest tech store (Maplins, PCworld, etc), they might be able to tell you more. There’s really no point getting a new laptop =/

Hair – if you don’t want to use heat (good idea), you could get rollers. They’re a bit granny-ish, but they work just as well as curling tongs but without the heat damage =] you just put them in your hair and leave them overnight, take them out in the morning, ta-da !! =D you can get them from Superdrug, they sell assorted packs there for like £3 =P

oh and also, if you use heat protectant spray it will limit the damage on your hair when you straighten/curl. =] i recommend Charles Worthington =]

Try office, jones, clarks for the wellies, or any shoe shop really.
