   but you could get way more for you money at like hollister or abercrombie. if thats not your style then you could go to pac sun or sun diego. and get your bras at taget…their way cheaper and do the same thing.

   i think its fine to splure on one or two pairs of jeans but thats where i would draw the line.

   finally i understand that everyone gives themselves different budgets for back to school shopping. if yours is 1500$ then thats great. but if i were you i would go to stores like the ones i listed. you could get so many different things for that budget and get one AMAZINGwardrobe!!!

   I think that your shopping list is very reasonable, just a little pricey though. I really think that it’s good that you want to be prepaired and you definatly will.     Honestly, I don’t think thats reasonable at all! Victoria’s secret underware? what grade are you in and who’s going to be seeing them at school?! I’m 17 and I would never think of spending over a grand on clothing, I’d rather put it towards my car or something!! You could get that amount of clothing for far less money…brands aren’t everything, your supporting the idea that only brands make you ‘cool’…If its coming out of your pocket though, go for it, waste your money:)

    I am assuming she wouldn’t ask if she was buying it. Since she went through all the trouble researching it. I am guessing she presented this to her parents and they said no. My parents make 10k a month and I can’t convince them to get me a 5k 9piece bedroom set.

    The best way to reason with a parent is to compromise. I showed my parents the 5k bedroom set*still love* but when they turned it down, I let her "stumble" across a 2k one. Then acted disappointed, so she feels guilty that I like the 5k one, but won’t feel guilty about the 2k one.

    Since you showed her the 1,6 k shopping list, cutting it down a k will make a 600 shopping list sound more reasonable.

    So here is a decent list

    3pants- loose fit: for those skipped the gym days; tight fit: For the tease, work fit: to afford the pants you do want." once you get a job you can get 2 more"

    3 skirts- long skirt, reasonably short skirt, work skirt

    50 dollar shirt budget

    2 pairs of shoes- to be honest I have more, cause hello! but I pay for mine, the only ones you can justify to a parent is, tennis shoe, and maybe a nice dress shoe.

    Don’t know where you live, so can’t really comment on the jacket, if you think one is enough then cool, just think it is funny that your jacket cost less then your pants, the temperature here varies so much that I need at least 4 jackets.

    20 dollar underwear budget- more then just five, you can find some great deals, just more then 5 at least 7 unless your a laundry maniac. You can get a whole bag of 20 for 10bucks. I wouldn’t count swimming gear in that mix, don’t know how old you are, but you wouldn’t be asking your parents to buy you sexy undies if you were able to pay for it yourself.

    I already went into the bra thing, unless you’re working for hooters, you can’t justify needing 5 bras. If you are that’s cool.

    Rule of thumb: If you can’t justify it, it isn’t reasonable.

    If you can say: Well I need 5 pairs of expensive pants because I have a tendency to rip them every time I bend over and need spare ones to change into! Then yes.

    Or, I need 5 expensive bras because my boyfriend has trouble undoing the cheap ones and ends up ripping it off. Then okay 5 bras. Is racer back a sports bra? Ah well.

    If you haven’t showed the bread maker the list, I suggest you do, then when they turn it make a more reasonable list, and even if it is a 600 dollars cheaper, it will still look more reasonable.

    How do I know? Well I got a 2k shopping spree from my parents after I graduated because I never asked them for expensive back to school stuff. Treat it like a credit card, the 1000 dollars you didn’t spend for back school, might go towards a hefty graduation shopping spree, because parents can always throw the, “Well I did spend 1,500 dollars on you for your back to school shopping stuff. That stuff is still good."

    One more thing you didn’t mention in the shopping list, school supplies: Books, backpack, other school tools. That can rack up the price. My mom god love her, did a nifty thing where she called the US Army for free information on the Army, and they happened to be sending "free satchel bags" I swear a sucker for bargain!

    If you are buying all this yourself, then it is just a matter of what you can afford, if you have rent, tuition, car payment, or other bills, then it is a judgment call. You can put it on a credit card and pay it off before interest.
