This is a mp4 download from my channel. In late 2007, around Xmas, I decided to make a holiday special. I had some limited success with my Take on Greenteagirlie vid I had recently put out and had some confidence. I had this grand vision of some Xmas vid at the mall with all sorts of people interviews and holiday craziness, but as before in Dec 2006 the cold was messing with my original Hi8 and I had to scratch that plan. I was hangin with my brother and his daughter for Xmas and while they slept I made the monologue portions of this vid, so my voice is low for a reason. It was kinda like a night before X-mas thing I was goin for here. The segment where I sell my soul was shot at my trusty storage unit, which doubles as a studio often. I’ve had it for years, with 24 hour business access and this is the first appearance of it in any of my vidz. Usually the places I have lived at around here are full of drama, and whining children, people with their favorite tv show turned up, they have no respect for my need to have control over the sound. However, at 2am in my storage, nobody is around and the noise levels are very low. I put on my grim reaper robe I got in 2002 and got out my lab skull I got at the same time. I lit 5 little tea candles around me with the lights off, it was 37 degrees outside and I could see my breath. The red eyes, were an effect I made in mid 2006 for a horror movie I was gunna shoot called Dead Conversations. The movie was canned after the only actor I could find to play the other role, went to rehab. I still had the footage on tape of the red eyes. They were a shoe box with the eyes cut out and a sheet of red colored paper on the inside behind those cuts. That was put on a lamp and sealed up with tape I then sharpied everything black to make sure no light was coming through any cracks. The demon growls were recorded off the internet on a computer speaker in 2006, using my little digi recorder I got for my sound department, pretty cheapass, I know. I fed the growls into the mic jack and into windows movie maker as a narration. A few people didn’t realise that I was actually paying thewinekone a compliment, by making his craziness what you would sell your soul to beat. The camera was messing up bad and I was lucky to get the segment. It took a hour to shoot, because of the camera bs. This whole video was edited on my neice’s computer in windows movie maker, I was still new to the software, but I liked it, better than the Pinnacle crap. The computer screen shots are on her monitor with the refresh rate turned down, something I learned making the Take on Greenteagirlie vid. A Dazzle 80 was used to run everything onto her computer. The end shots are the storage with the lights on before I shot the soul selling segment and the final shot is a burning dead rat I shot when I first got the Hi8 in early 2006. The music was Bach-Toccata and Fugue playing live as I poured lighter fluid on the rodent. With camera made myspace addy and having to play the music live, you could see that I had come a ways since 2006 in my technical experience. Yet this vid didn’t really do that well, I remember William Sledd’s “Merry X-mas es!!” video getting far far more views than this and I kinda started to think that I had made some vidz on Youtube, mission accomplished, concentrate on other stuff. I knew that I was trapped down at the bottom and even a great vid like my Take on Greenteagirlie vid I made before this, wasn’t going to get me the exposure I needed to make youtube worth my time and effort. There were just too many s on here, uploading bs constantly and that I would always drown in their crap. Even though I had plenty of vid ideas just waiting to be used, I understood I would never make a splash with them, cuz it’s not talent you need, it’s exposure. This was practically my last video in my mind, but youtube had a strange twist waiting for me in early 2008. Greenteagirlie asked me to make a video for her about going green and then thewinekone subscribed. I knew I had to get another computer and start making more videos.
